Happy New Year everyone. Here's to 2009 being one of the best year's we've ever seen. I hope I didn't jinx it. I don't believe in that sort of thing anyway.

I tried cabbage for the first time since I was little. When I was little I hated it. I thought it was like eating wet notebook paper as my uncle Andy puts it. Well, my Grandma insisted that I eat some this year because of the whole you'll get money in the new year thing. Anyway, I decided to try one bite and it still tastes like wet notebook paper. Some things never change, but hopefully my financial luck will be off the charts this year. The black-eyed peas and cornbread combo remains one of my favorite meals however.

Oh, I almost forgot. Congrats to my cousin Minta Spears on earning MVP of the McDonald's Brazos Shootout (it's something like that). Anyway, it's a high school girls basketball tournament and Minta is a freshman. I'll be bragging more and more about her as the season progresses. Go Lady Panthers!
